What Are Increased Uncontrollable Body Movements Suggestive Of?

My husband has had mild ticks since he was a child. Now at 59, I am noticing a substantial increase in his apparently uncontrollable body movements such as raising his shoulder repeatedly, turning his head, looking up several times in a row at the roof of the car while driving. Just wondering if it could be symptoms of Parkinson s or some other disease/disorder?
