What Are Multiple Bite Marks On Body With A Red Center Suggestive Of?

I have many - over 30 -itchy bites all over my body, but primarily on my torso. I woke up in the middle of the night because of the itching. We are staying in a hotel. I could find nothing in the bedding, but I did feel something bites me. The bites have a red center which is darker than th surrounding area. Most of them are about the size of a nickel. What could have bitten me?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Red center with multiple bite marks over torso is indicative of contagious dermatitis after bug bite most likely. In case of hiking, one may suspect Lyme`s disease as well. Kindly get an examination with your dermatologist for best future guidelines. Primary relief of itch with cetirizine or diphenhydramine can be obtained and local application of calamine lotion to sooth the part at its best. Avoid prolong sun exposure.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
