What Are Normal Tsh And Thyroid Peroxidase Levels For Teenager?
Hi I'm 16 and i had a blood test done a while ago and my thyroid peroxidase antibody level value was 222. And my TSH level was 7.87 So i have just had another blood test but I don't know what these numbers mean and what should they be for someone of my age?

Normal TSH level is at you age would be as of a normal adult i.e is around 0.5 to 5 mIUL. Normal level of thyroid peroxidase antibody is Less than 35 IU/mL. Since you have not provided the units, you need to convert them with the help of converter. Your TSH is slightly seems to be raised and thats why antibody level may be performed to diagnose the cause for raised TSH. Thyroid peroxidase antibody can be raised in following conditions:
1. Hashimoto disease
2. Graves disease
3. Other autoimmune diseases (eg, type 1 diabetes mellitus)
4. Pregnancy
5. Sporadic multinodular goiter, isolated thyroid nodule, and thyroid cancer
