Hi, One, I had a really bad pain on the Left Side of my Stomach -- I passed after a day and 1/2. Could barely walk. Now, I m constipated to the Point that I have not gone for 2 days. I did an Enema on Monday but the Stool was Blocking the Effects of the Enema. General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.

Noted the history of constipation, enema not working, numbness on foot and left fingers.
The commonest cause I can think about your numbness can be related to nerve compression or so and needs a preliminary clinical evaluation, relevant investigations to know the cause and get treated accordingly.
Since enema is not working you may need to visit the ER for X-ray of abdomen to see for fecoliths, obstruction or so.
Once again proper soap-water enema to help evacuation.
Colonoscopy and CT scan if cancer or obstruction of any sort is thought about.
Take laxatives and stool softeners as would be advised and continue till regularization of bowel functions.
Also watch for the foods and beverages that cause constipation and avoid these.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
