What Are Persistent Pain In Diaphragm Followed By Hives Suggestive Of?

My sister has been having immense pain in her diaphragm area followed but what we believe are hives. She has recently been diagnosed with narcolepsy, so I m not quite sure if that could also be a symptom. This has been going on intermittently for a couple years now. She has recently had labs drawn and an annual pap smear followed by STD testing. Any ideas? We ve ruled out a food allergy.

Hello There

After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that narcolepsy is associated with muscle paralysis sometimes and can be a cause of pain. But you should get an X-ray chest done only to evaluate if any other abnormality has been underlying.

Hopefully this information will guide you properly.

Kind Regards
Dr Bhanu Partap
