What Are Pressure And Pain In Bladder With Frequent Urge To Urinate Suggestive Of?

The last few days I have been having a lot of bladder pressure, fullness and pain, and feel the need or urge to go to the bathroom constantly. Sometimes I am only able to urinate a very small amount, even though I feel like I still have to go more. I have been getting up even during the night now. Sometimes during the day I feel like I can t hold it (if I am driving to work or in a meeting, etc.). My urine is still almost clear in color (I am a HUGE water drinker). There is no bleeding or burning or odor. But this has been worsening over the last few days and now I am having some flank pain. I had a kidney stone a few years ago and just the thought of going through that again really scares! Help!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You have a history of kidney stones. You are suggested to get X-Ray & Imaging tests done to detect any kidney stone. Do continue to take plenty of water.

Your symptom of urgency to pass urine, pain in the abdomen & being able to pass only a small amount of urine is suggestive of UTI, overactive bladder or enlarged prostate.

Get clinically examined by a Urologist. Get CBC, Urinalysis(R/E & C/S) along with Imaging tests done. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected & the severity of your symptoms.

In the meantime you can take Spasmol(Spasmoproxyvon), one sos when pain. Antacids are also helpful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
