What Are Red Swollen Pimple Like Marks On My Son S Legs?
Hi, my four year old son has eczema which seems to have escalated lately throughout his neck and and armpits. He has now developed waterly pimples/blisters on his legs which appear kind of red swellings, itchy and leaving black marks when healed. What could be the cause of this? Please help.
He seems to have infected eczematous dermatitis. I would suggest a course of an oral antibiotic e.g. either Amoxicillin or Cephalexin for a few days. In addition I would suggest an oral antihistamine e.g Cetirizine or Levocetirizine for symptomatic relief from itching. Once the rash starts drying he may use a topical steroid and antibiotic combination cream e.g either Fluticasone propionate and Mupirocin ointment to help with his eczema. These are all prescription medications that need to be taken under supervision of a doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
