Hello! Febuxostat (febugat) is an antigout agent. It intervenes the process of synthesis of uric acid thus decreasing its production. Its indicated for chronic goute. Its main adverse effects are elevated liver enzymes (it has to be used cautiously in hepatic diseases), jaundice, arthralgia and nausea. In some cases psychotic behaviour is reported. In different clinical studies a higher incidence of heart ischemic events and stroke are registered comparing with allopurinol. I hope i have been of help.
