What Are Side Effect Of Febuget For Lowering Urea Level?

I am 79 years of age and 1.75 Meter height with body weight of KG
I have been a heart patient with CABG in 2001 and angioplasty with two stents in 2007
I am having serum urea level of53 and uric acid is within limits.I was taking zyloric BD but the parameter of Serum Urea remained above 53. Now the cardiologist has prescribed me 1 OD Febuget 40. Is this medicine correct for lowering UREA? The information gathered from internet that this medicine is fore erectile dysfunction. Now I am confused whether Febuget 40 is the alternative medicine for Lowering blood urea. My other parameters specially lipid profile and electrolytes K and Na are within limits
Kindly advise

Hello! Febuxostat (febugat) is an antigout agent. It intervenes the process of synthesis of uric acid thus decreasing its production. Its indicated for chronic goute. Its main adverse effects are elevated liver enzymes (it has to be used cautiously in hepatic diseases), jaundice, arthralgia and nausea. In some cases psychotic behaviour is reported. In different clinical studies a higher incidence of heart ischemic events and stroke are registered comparing with allopurinol.
I hope i have been of help.
