What Are Susten Vaginal Tablets Prescribed During Pregnancy?

Hi, I am Kandaswamy, I request some suggestions from you. My wife had undergone an fibroid operation by date may 12 2010. She conceived by October 3 2010 and was suggested to take Naturogest in vagina. A missed abortion has happened due to missing heart beat by december 20 2010. She is again conceived and confirmed by October 16. This time she is suggested to take Susten 100 in vagina. Both the times of pregnancy, the doctor has advised her not to take spinache Please help me to know 1. What is the use of these capsules? 2. How the delivery will be? Normal or a C-section? 3. Are these tablets steriods? 4. Will it affect the baby? if so by what means? 5. Why the doctor has prescribed not to take spinache? Thanks & Regards, Kandaswamy T

Welcome to HCM and thanks for asking your queries. I will do my best to solve all your doubts.
First of all i want to tell you that because you had a history of abortion, this pregnancy is very precious. Your doctor has rightly prescribed you susten tablets, which contains progesterone and its very effective to maintain pregnancy during early days, specially during 1st 3 months.
Coming back to your next question, normal or CS delivery will not depend on this tablet, but it depends on many factors, which are to be identified by your gynceologist and its not possible to predict delivery type in early days, so for that you will have to wait for few more months.
Susten tablets are not steroids, so no need to worry about it.
These tablets will not at all affect your baby in any ways, so remove such doubt from your mind.
Coming to your last question, i am really not sure why your doctor has advised not to take spinach, because spinach is actually a very good food during pregnancy, because it contains iron and many vitamins in it, so you better ask to your doctor to clear your query about spinach.
