Hello I am 24 year old male. I have a pain in my lower neck area(when moving my head down).I do not have pain down my arms or hands .No headaches ,no dizziness ...but the dull pain is present more than a year.I used to sleep on bad pillows in the dorm and I was studying for 3-4 hours every day in the past 4 years.what are the chances of having Cervical Spondylosis ?

Dear,

Its unlikely that you have full fledged spondylosis, but you are on the way. Thanks for posting your history, it tells us that bad posture was resopnsible for your condition. And if you don't change it you might land in spondylosis early. Since you dont have associated complications like tingling numbness and radiating pain in arms/hands you have nothing to worry. All you need to do is take adequate rest, hot water fomentation, discontinuation of pillow and use anti inflammatory medicines. Local ointment can also help. When you improve learn some neck isometric exercises. That is the only long term assurance against early onset cervical spondylosis.

Regards
