my father has been known to have a low patassium level and was advised to eat a banana a day, recently he has been comp[laining of a hissing sound at the back of his head, am I right in thinkning that this is due to his potassium level, as I dont think he is eating enough bananas. thank you hayley
hi, Low potassium levels can cause extreme weakness, headache, palpitations and more severely, cardiac rhythm disturbances. Sound at the back of the head may not be due to this and is generally due to hypertension or anemia and rarely due to drugs. I would advise him to be taken to a physician for better diagnosis, rather than imploring every symptom to his potassium status. all the best.
