Hi, Nose piercing could lead to a narrowed airway in the nostrils. Not only is the jewellery itself an obstruction, but the piercing could trigger swelling in the nostrils, especially if you have a septum piercing. It may also damage a nerve and cause numbness or pain. Scarring, keloids or lumps of fibrous scar tissue can form. Again, nose piercing can cause infection around the piercing site. Symptoms of infection around the piercing site include- minor swelling and redness, an uncomfortable level of pain, throbbing or burning around the infected site.
