What Are The Causes Of Fever And Back Pain Which Is Not Curing After Taking Medication?

My son has had a fever for 3 nights now. I have been giving him ibuprofen and the fever will go down, but then goes back up as soon as the medicine wears off. He has been acting fine...playing, eating, drinking, and not really having any other symptoms except just recently told me his back hurts. I am planning to take him to urgent care tomorrow, but any ideas what this could be?

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
From the description given that he is otherwise okay there does not seem to be cause for concern. It Could possibly be a viral infection in which backache and body pain are common.
Take care
