What Are The Chances Of Deviated Septum Of Nose In A Child Post Injury?
My 14 month old son tripped and fell face first on hard tile....he hit his nose primarily....there was a small streak of blood with the snot that came out of his nose as he cried very hard and swelling of the bridge of his nose. I took him to the pediatrician right away and while tough to examine him because he was fighting her she said she didn't see any blood pooling or a deviated septum. What are the chances these could develop over the next few days and should I have him double checked by an ENT?
Hi...I suggest that you get him evaluated by an ENT surgeon and get nasal X-rays too to be doubly sure about the septal deviation. But if you get it evaluated after the swelling comes down then it will be even more easier and authentic. regards - Dr. Sumanth
