What Are The Chances Of Survival After Induced Coma Following A Heart Attack?

My mother in law suffered a heart attack or cardiac arrest this afternoon. She as been put into an induced coma and they hope to bring her out in 24/48 hours. She is 75 years old and apparently has a heart murmor which we weren't aware of ( although she was). I know a generic question but what are her chances?

Hi,
I read your query and understood your question.
The overall mortality after a heart attack is 25%, which increase in cases of cardiogenic shock (75-80%).
So the best thing to do is to treat the heart in order to avoid cardiogenic shock (this is the reason of induced coma).
I hope that everything will go ok with your mother in law.
