What Are The Cheap Substitutes For Thyroid Medicines In South Africa?
Hi there. I live in South Africa. My mother has a growth in her thyroid and requires medication for it. Luckily it does not seem to be cancerous. The prescription she got has a list of medicines (Emeprazole capsules, Tinidazole tablets, Clarithromycin tablet, and Ranitidine tablets) costing up to $266 in Zimbabwe which is so expensive. I m hoping to get over-the-counter drugs here in South Africa to take back to her in Zimbabwe but I have no idea what to look for. Any suggestions for medication that could ease the pain and make the swelling/growth go down?
Hello and thank you for asking! I can understand your bothersome situation but i would need to know the exact diagnosis of the thyroid. Please attach the ultrasound report and hormonal results so i can guide you further rather there is any treatment that can dicrease the thyroid volume. Will be a pleasure to help you further. Kind regards, Dr.Mirjeta
