What Are The Different Medications For Pain Management?

I have chronic pancreatitis I take 150mg of methadone a day, I also have prescriptions for klonopin for anxiety but rarely take it usually only take half a pill maybe once a week. Still I am concerned about the methadone, just read about deaths while taking it. I ve been taking meth for pain for about 3 years now. I also go into the hospital regularly for extreme pancreatitis and they give me diluadid, but not with meth. Should I find a different drug fro pain than methadone? (My doctor is a real bright GI and I see him once a month and trust him, but he isn t a pain specialist) Thanks, cmp
