What Are The Early Signs And Symptoms Of Pregnancy?

My 19 yr old girlfriend has recently missed her period, and had some symptoms of a pregnancy. We took some home tests and found them to be negative. Some symptoms like back and abdominal pain, as well as spotting after sex still are occuring. We thought it could possibly be an ectopic pregnancy but read that the tests woulda been positive. Should we rule ectopic out? what else could it be? and what should we do? She doesnt have medical insurance or anyway of getting it so were trying to avoid heavy medical bills.

Hi there,
I have understood your concern.I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

1. First of all do not panic.

2. If she has regular periods and you had history of unprotected sex acts, you are absolutely right in suspecting the pregnancy.

Also, urine pregnancy test has to be positive even with normal or ectopic pregnancy. IN case of doubt blood beta HCG test and USG will be of help.

Also, USG will help to rule out ectopic pregnancy.

3. With negative test results for pregnancy she can simply wait for the onset of periods or induce the periods with progesterone tablets. Your treating doctor can guide you about the same.

4. I will suggest you to get proper sex counseling done. Use of suitable contraceptive method like condom, will help to prevent unwanted pregnancy and STDs.
