What Are The Effects Of Taking Magnesium And Antacids Together?

I have been prescribed gabapentin for an all-body itching problem that may have been a result of the chemo treatment I underwent in August. My dermatologist asked if I was taking magnesium and I said yes 250mg per day. But, now I read that taking antacids with magnesium makes more difficult for the drug to be absorbed in the body. Thoughts?

Hello, Taking Gabapentine along with Magnesium containing antacids, does affect bioavailability of gabapentin by over 32%. Because presence of Mg in the gut reduces its absorption. Thanks
