What Are The Itchy Bumps That Appear All Over My Body?

i developed itchy bumps (3) on my back that i thought were perhaps spider bites. However over the next 3 days, i developed more itchy bumps on different areas of my body including hand, leg, neck, up side of face. After this period and much benedryl, they started drying up and going away. however since then, my husband (who has been ill with bronchitis) developed similar bumps on his neck, then back, and hand. Not quite sure what to think of this and what could it possibly be. I am pretty sure it was never a bite of some sort now.

Hi, thanks for your question.

The symptoms are highly suggestive of a common etiology. Therefore, its either both of you got exposed to a common allergen such as poison ivy or you contracted scabies caused by mites and spread through skin-to-skin contact.

In both cases, benadryl and a steroid cream such as hydrocortisone would do, however, please review the bumps with a primary care doctor, if it is scabies you would also need an antiparasitic cream.
