What are the long-term effects of aortic stenosis if a patient opts not to have open heart surgery? There are no other heart problems; it s an otherwise healthy heart. The patient was diagnosed at the age of 65, and the cardiologist thinks it is most likely a condition that has been with her for years, possibly since birth.
