What Are The Long Term Side Effects Of Taking Irbesartan Tablets And What Is The Alternative Drug Recommended?
My 75 year old female friend wants to know what the long-term side effects would likely be from taking a 300mg dose of Irbesartan tablets daily for 15 years. Also what alternative drugs you could recommend. She takes this drug for high blood pressure.
There is really no long term side effects fro using this medication. If there were any side effects, they would have been noticed and addressed already. Persons stay on these drugs for several more years tan you have done and never get to change the medication for any reasons unless there is a problem. There is no need to look for an alternative so long as this medication is working well for you. Stick to it and be happy that you found a drug that has been very okay for you for the past 15years unless something should change and necessitate that decision.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you for using our services and feel free to ask for more information if need be. Dr. Ditah, MD.
