I 've been taking Losartan 50mg tablets for years, my BP has always been under control. Now I got a different looking tablet 17/2 on one side S on the other .My BP is up and I feel dizzy I feel like these new tablets are not Losartan 50 mg tablets. I am unable ident ify them..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
You cannot check, if a tablet contains 50 mg losartan or not in home. Many tablet are film coated to give them different color and consistency. Sometimes same medicines from different manufacturers have different result. This is not because they have different composition or one of them has lesser active drug, this is because medicines have inactive ingredients which control their absorption & dispensing. Sometimes a medicine taking for long time can start becoming less effective. So therefore change of medicine may become necessary.
Refer to your physician hope this information helps
