What Are The Possible Treatments For Fever ?

I have a 10 month old who has recently pulled a small folding table down, and it hit a box, then hit her head. I did not see the initial falling of the table, just it sliding slowly towards her after hitting a box. I didn't see her head jerk or have impact movement when it hit her. She cried and she did get a small goose egg bump on the front of her hair line. Hey, she's crawling now and stuff like this happens. However; Since I didn't see all of it, AND she happened to get a mild fever that night (4 hours or so after), then I wonder if it has anything to do with the goose egg. I have given her pain reliever/fever reducer last night. It went down. Then it went back up again this morning. Mild fever, meaning... 99.4 or so.

I realize, hey, it could be her teething. It could be her cold/bug that she has. But wonder if it has to do with the injury to the head and wonder if it's way more serious.

Your expertise is greatly respected and appreciated.

Thank you,

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi

The injury has nothing to do with her temperature.
If she did not have any symptoms like loss of consciousness, forceful vomiting or ear/nose bleed etc, there is no need to be worried.
Cold compresses and paracetamol for pain will do.

We take any temperature above 100'F to be significant. So relax.

In case she develops high grade fever, do consult a Pediatrician (to look for the focus of infection).
Hope my answer helps.
Best wishes.
