What Are The Possible Treatments For Scab And Pus On The Knee ?
Please write your query hereI have recently fallen and injured my knee. it scabbed over, and eventually the scab fell. That same day, while my knee was still raw from where the scab was, I slipped again. Now I have a new scab, but when I pressed down on it while cleaning it, a yellow liquid oozed out from what appeared to be a blister under the scab. Should I be concerned?
Dear patient. Greetings from health care magic!!! I am Dr Thakker and shall be answering your question.
I can understand your concern for the knee injury and the subsequent infection. I will try my best to answer your question and guide you through.
You have sustained a knee abrasion due to the injury. This has got super infected causing oozing of pus from the scab. I will recommend you to take antibiotic augmentin for 7 days and get a local cleaning and dressing of the wound. If there is a frank abscess formation, it will need incision and drainage.
I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to write back to me.
Yours sincerely, Dr Thakker.

What Are The Possible Treatments For Scab And Pus On The Knee ?
Hello and welcome to HCM, I read your query and understood your concern. It seems like your wound due to fall got infected. And the yellow fluid was pus, which was formed due to infection. Apply antibiotic ointment like fusidic acid or mupirocin over the wound and cover it with a dressing so that raw area doesnt get infected again. Dont scratch or touch that area again and again Hope I helped
