What Are The Precautions Required When Taking Doxycyclinehyclate?
I was bitten by a bee 6 days ago .I have a bright red patch on my calf, it also itches. I was given doxycyclinehyclate 100mg. I have been on the medication for 24 hours. The patch seems worse than yesterday. I will be on this antibiotic for the next 10 days. Any more precautions that I should take? Thank you.
Doxycycline is an irritant. So you should take it only with food and plenty of water. Make sure it does not stick to your food pipe ( oesophagus). I have seen some very bad oesophageal ulcerations at endoscopy. Take care Dr. Noble Zachariah
