Hi and thanks for the query,
The eustachian tube connects the ear to the nose.
The tube is supposed to maintain pressure in the middle ear.
When you sneeze or
cough there are sudden and intense changes in pressure in the upper
respiratory tract. If the tube is malfunctioning then the pressure in the middle ear is not maintained leading to pain.
When you bend over the venous pressure in your tube increases leading to congestion in the tube and closure of the tube. Once again the tube fails to maintain pressure in the ear leading to pain.
Do not worry at all.
Try using some decongesting nasal drops like
otrivin.
Instill 3 drops of otrivin in each
nostril and after ten minutes do steam inhalation 3 times a day for 5 days.
Such drops will decongest the tube thereby keeping it patent and functioning well.
For proper method of instillation read the crimp.
You can blow balloons to keep the tube patent.
Chewing gum also helps to keep the tube patent.

Dr Kishori.
