Hi,
Alesse 28 is composed of a progestin (
Levonorgestrel) and a estrogen (
ethinyl estradiol). It is a combined birth control pill used to prevent
pregnancy. The following side effects have been reported by its intake:
1. abdominal cramping or bloating
2. acne (pimples)
3.
breast pain, tenderness, or swelling
4.
diarrhea, nausea and vomiting
5. dizziness
6. headache
7. increase or decrease in appetite
8. increased or decreased interest in sexual activity
Certain symptoms what you are experiencing seems to be caused due to the side effects of the medication. However, you need to completely quit smoking as these side effects could be precipitated by it.
Despite quitting smoking, if you still experience such symptoms, you need to seek medical attention by consulting Obstetrician for change in the medication which could suit you.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
