What Are The Side Effects Of Omnacortil?

This is Prafull.
My mother was taking Omnacortil 5 mg per day for last one year for Rheumatoid Arthritis. For last month the doctor suddenly increased the does to 15mg per day which results into hampering kidney and trouble to breath (After this only we came to know that Omnacortil contains steroid). Now, from last two week she has stopped taking Omnacortil and her condition is much better now but now she is getting chill with fever, extreme pain in joints and muscles, dry mouth etc. Are this signals after effects of Omnacortil and if yes how to overcome all this.
Please suggest.

As your mother were taking prednisolone 5 mg , increased dose up to 15 mg a day .
The side effects were kidneys and breathing problems . Beside there is accumulation of fluid in body , with weight gain , reabsorption of calcium from bone etc.
But your mother is not taking steroid just now and that from last 2 weeks .
Now your mother is having fever , chills , pain in joints and muscles, dry moth.
I want to tell you that all these symptoms are not due to withdrawal of prednisolone .
These symptoms may be due to RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS .
Your mother is not taking any medicine for R A , that is the reason that she is facing such type of symptoms .
2nd reason of such symptoms may be due to Kidney infection . Diagnosis can be confirmed by urine examination with ultrasound of both kidneys.
3rd reason of course may be malaria , so get in blood for malarial parasite.
In my opinion just consult a Rheumatologist and get his opinion.
