Hi I am Samir Lama. My BP is 130/90 to 160/110. I am taking Prolomet 100 and Repace - H and TGR 160. My Lipid profile is Cholesterol 134 md/dl Triglyceride 343 mg/dl LDL 31 and HDL 35. My cardiologist prescribed me TGR 160mg. some body told me it is very dangerous to heart to take TGR 160 is it true?
TGR-160 (fenofibrate) is a lipid lowering medication commonly prescribed to treat high triglycerides and high cholesterol levels thus decreasing the risk of heart attack and stroke hence it is not dangerous to heart. Its common side effects include muscle weakness, stomach upset, gall stones, itching, and flushing.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
