What Are The Side Effects Of Arthrotec 50 Mg Tablet?

I visited my doctor today and she prescribed Arthrotec 50mg because I have pain in my left shoulder, I took one tablet and it upset my stomach, on the bottle it says to take with food which I did, I do not want to take any more of this medication. Hi Ms MarileeGhanie. Please mention your age in any queries related to health. Arthrotec 50 is usually prescribed for osteoarthritis which u might be suffering in your left sholuder. It contains two drugs diclofenac and misoprostol. Misoprostol protects the stomach from diclofenac's irritating effects. This combination medication is used to treat arthritis in people at high risk of developing stomach ulcers and serious complications such as bleeding.The most common side effects are stomach pain, diarrhea (loose stools), dyspepsia, nausea, and flatulence (excess gas). Diarrhea and abdominal pain may resolve after 2-7 days. Some other serious side effects are gastrointestinal ulcers and bleeding.This drug is usually adviced to take with food. This drug no doubt is beneficial in arthritis. If u experiencing severe side effects and u r not able to tolerate them you please consult your treating doctor for alternate drugs.
