Duphaston contains dydrotestosterone that is used in the treatment of
female infertility, different types of menstrual period abnormalities such as painful or irregular menstrual periods, endometriosis,
premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and many more. The menstrual periods that have stopped before menopause, this medication can help to bring back your normal menstrual periods. It is used to treat heavy menstrual bleeding also. This medication may cause irregular, painful, complete cessation of menstruation or amenorrhea, heavy, scanty, prolonged or short menstrual cycle than usual. Even, it can occur
breakthrough bleeding or
spotting between periods.
Other side effects of Duphaston are abdominal cramps, raised body temperature, changes in body weight, dry mouth, sweating, headache, fatigue, changes in sleep patterns, mood swings, depression, nausea, vomiting, GIT upset, changes in appetite, delayed wound healing, acnes, facial hair growth, changes in sexual drive, weakness, unusual tiredness, allergic reactions etc. If such side effects persist for a long time or bother you, you should consult your doctor immediately for
