Hi Doctor ,myself Tijo ,diagnosed chrons disease in 2005 and was on medication mesalamine 800mg tid(mesacol)...after the treatment I didnt have much problems but I had recurrent diarrhoea and altered elimination pattern I started the medication again and reduced the dose to 800mg daily because I thought that the drug might have some side effects in future..but still I have the issues of altered elimination pattern(3 to 4 times)and severe flatulence. .colonoscopy and endoscopy were done in 2005 and they said its affected on the distal end of large intestine and some part of the stomach too..kindly give me suggestion and I would like to change the drug which I am using now.
Hi, it seems your disease is not well controlled on your current medication, I believe you might need another Colonoscopy/Endoscopy. People with Crohn's disease are at risk of overgrowth of bacteria which could cause all the symptoms with you, talk to your Gasteroenterologist, there are newer treatment available for Crohn's disease and you might be eligible for it.
