Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi i had a question about working out. i just start using a sauna suit but i heard if u use it, it will cause kidney problems due to lost of electrolytes. i was wondering if this is true? and also i was wondering how long and how many days a week should i use a sauna suit? and is there benfits of using this? thanks
I can understand your concern. Sauna suits are water proof and they are designed to induce heat in the body thus causing profuse sweating and loss of water and weight. It encourages person to work out and gives impression of good work out due to sweating and heat. However, its advantages are debated and no concrete evidence is available regarding its advantage in physical health. Instead, plenty of water and electrolyte intake is crucial to prevent heat stroke, dehydration and loss of electrolytes. It is not to be used in hot environment and during intense physical workout.
I would advise not to take risk of health by wearing sauna suit as the risk potential is higher than benefit potential of it.
I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic.
