What Are The Signs And Symptoms Of Prostrate Cancer?
I need to know the symptoms of Prostrate Cancer. I am 68 years old and have been on testosterone therapy (by injection 220 mgs every 14 days for a little over a year) at the end of 2014 my PSA was 1.5. In early February this year it was 2.1 and it is now 2.5. I am informed I am still within normal limits but quick jumps in the PSA such as this spell possible trouble. What do you think?
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services. I have read your query and here is my advise.
* As per my surgical experience, the cancer prostate manifest in various clinical concerns as
- dysuria, hesitation, urgency, frequency ( depending upon the internal sphincter involvement ) - recurrent fever and urinary tract infection - hematuria - weight loss and anorexia - swelling legs and red renal function tests when involvement of ureter and kidneys via ascending spread - lower back ache ( through spinal metastasis ) - others
* With the narrated reports of serum PSA, there is no threat of cancer prostate as usually it ranges above 50 for such cases.
