My throat seems to clog when running, swimming, etc. I also seem to cough alot to try to clear my throat. another symptom is quite a bit of burping right after i eat. Could this be acid reflex or GERD. It bothers me every day. I work out every day, so i want to figure out just what is going on.
Hi Thanks for writing in HCM I need further information regarding your complaints1.) how long you are suffering with this symptom ie cough.cough associated with sputum or not 2.) any breathing difficulty on exertion/chest pain 3.) any difficulty in passing stool/loose stools 4.)any chronic analgesic/smoking intake history5.)are u under any medications for long term 6 .)about your appetite. 8.) about your occupational history . acid reflux unlikely to cause cough.my advise to do chest X ray pa view and spirometry to detect any obstruction in airway and to consult chest physician .regarding acid reflux my advise is to drink plenty of water,regularly timed food with every 3 hour interval but all in small quantity for eg 2-4 biscuits with adequate water and to avoid spicy and oily food,no alcohol,no coffee,no junk foods . i usually prescribe my patients T.pan 40 mg 1-0-1 (before food) syp.gelusil (antacid) 2teaspoon Thrice daily.if symptoms persists contact general surgeon
