Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
According to BS Rome III Criteria >12 wk in the past 12 months of abdominal discomfort plus pain that has 2 out of 3 features
1. Relieved with defecation 2. Associated with a change in frequency of stool 3. Associated with a change in consistency of stool
The following are supportive, but not essential to the diagnosis: 1. Abnormal stool frequency (>3/d or Abnormal stool form (lumpy/hard/loose/watery) >1/4 of defecation 2. Abnormal stool passage (straining, urgency, feeling of incomplete evacuation) >1/4 of defecation 3. Passage of mucus >1/4 of defecation 4. Bloating
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
