General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Bunions are a very common problem, they are formed on the joint of the big toe, when the big toe pushes against the next toe, so it gets bigger. Sometimes it gets inflamed and painful.

To prevent from getting worse, you should:

- avoid wearing high heels and too tight shoes. You should choose shoes that conform to the shape of your feet, and don't cause pressing to the parts of your foot.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Suela Gjata, General & Family Physician
