What Are The Symptoms Of Appendicitis?

I am concerned I may have appendicitis. The symptoms on the Internet are not all specific; i.e., shooting stomach pains and diarrhea could be the symptoms of other problems. In addition to the above, I hurt, not all over, but my right hip and muscles in back.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are suffering from shooting pain in the stomach area and diarrhea, you are also hurting on your right hip, muscles and also back. You are suggested to take PPIs, if it is due to acid reflux / gastritis it will give you relief. Taking acetaminophen, one stat when needed may be helpful.

Avoid eating oily spicy food, processed or packaged food. Always take fresh well cooked, home made food. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get blood tests and imaging tests done so that the pathology can be detected and treatment started at the earliest.

Appendicitis commonly presents with sudden pain on the right side of the lower abdomen, pain may start at the nave and shift to the lower right quadrant. It can cause nausea and vomiting. Pain may become sever on coughing or walking. Abdominal bloating, loss of appetite, constipation or diarrhea is common. Get clinically evaluated and treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
