What Are The Symptoms Of Bipolar Depression?

I think I might have bipolar depression but dont know what symptoms i need to look for to know whether or not i need to make an appointment with my doctor. My mood swings are split second actions I feel i have no control over them. I have a need to sleep all the time and its putting a strain on my relationship with my husband and my son. My son is only 4 and doesn t understand what I am going through. My husband doesn t talk to me when I am in a mood he can t understand. I am scared I might hurt them.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It would be best, especially if you are concerned you may hurt yourself or your family, that you see someone as soon as possible. It may be easier to access a counselor or psychologist. There may also be hotlines that may be able to refer you to someone.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
