What Are The Symptoms Of Chest Infection?

hi ive been unwell with flu one week went to docs and he comfirmed this but the next day i was rushed in hostpital unable to breath like i was going to have heart attack at hostpital they tell me i have a chest infection and give me antibiotics i wanted to know if im ok taking GUAIFENESIN cough medicen aswell thanks

Thanks for your query.
If your symptoms improve like improvement of cough, expectoration and fever and biochemical and blood parameters improve like improvement in c-reactive protein (CRP) and total leukocyte count and clinically if there is improvement of general well being, improvement of appetite then surely there is improvement in your part. If cough subsided then you must not take guaifenesin more. You should have a follow up chest x-ray to look for radiological improvement and should pay visit to your treating doctor for clinical evaluation.
