My mother has become paranoid, people in her house,etc. she could still make a grocery list and shop, we grove her. The next night she completely lost all reality and only has moments of reality know. Is this dementia? She s been in a senior behavioral unit, now in a nursing home for therapy. What can we expect?

I would like to tell you that Paranoia is a symptom of many psychotic and brain disorders and Dementia is category of brain disorders. Paranoia can be caused by a variety of condition like, schizophrenia disorders, delusional disorders, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, brain tumor or cyst, neurological illnesses, HIV and other infections, genetics, dementia etc.
Paranoia is treated with medication and cognitive behavioral therapy. Kindly consult with a treating Psycologist regarding this.
