My daughter who is 35 years, 5 8 and about 180 pounds. She had her gall bladder removed and tonsils. She went off birth control pills five months ago after being on them for 16 years except for part of a year and during her pregnancy about 8 years ago (during the birth they had problems getting her to stop bleeding. She had tests later and the doctor said it was a one time thing and her blood was okay). She had a small lump come up on her bum during her menstrual cycle twice after going off the pill, but the third time it was a large hard lump (half the size of a dinner plate), hot and swollen. She had a fever of 104 and extreme joint pain. They diagnosed it as cellulitis and gave her antibiotics intravenously and it finally disappeared. Tylenol 3 was the only thing that helped the pain. After a week they sent her home with oral antibiotics but this month during her cycle it has come back again. Her cell count is high and she some achiness and the lump has returned. They gave her antibiotic sooner this time and will send her home with a prescription in case it comes back next month. She will be seeing a specialist but not for several months. Would it be caused from a hormonal imbalance or something else? What can they do to prevent it from happening each month?

What Are The Symptoms Of Hormonal Imbalance?
Hello, It seems like a rare disease called as autoimmune progesterone dermatitis or it may be endometriosis (very rare possibility). The cause seems to be long term use of Oral contraceptive pills. Her body has made antibodies to this drug. A short course of steroids in specified days will help her out. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
