What Are The Symptoms Of Inner Ear Infection?

So for the past week and a half I have had cold and flu like symptoms and recently my ear has started to hurt. This happens when I bend down or if I pop my ears (something I find I have had to do quite often due to congestion). My question is whether you think it is simply a sinus infection or possibly an inner ear infection.Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem seem to be related to Eustachian tube dysfunction. It is a common symptom after a cold or flu. I suggest to use decongestants such as Dexometorphan. I also suggest to do exercises such as swallowing or chewing gum.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
