What Are The Symptoms Of Shingles?

I have numbness on my scalp behind my left ear that radiates to my ear lobe, lower left jaw and down my neck, stopping just below my left shoulder. Recently, my left thumb feels like there is no cisculation and my left arm feels weak, though I can lift a 10 pound weight with no problem. Doctors think it might be shingles, though there is no evidence of pain, or a rash. Neurologist has scheduled me for an MRI, which is being held up by the incurance company for "medical evaluation." Could this be shingles?
