Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I contracted trichomonias from my husband in February and received treatment from my gynecologist. I have not had sex since, and the infection returned last month. My doctors swears that sexual contact is the only way that I could have gotten it. In other words, I was being called a liar.
Vaginal infections are notorious for recurrences. Local hygiene is all important in eradicating these infections. Vagina creams and douces are to be taken regularly. Vaginal swab for culture and sensitivity should be carried out at month's interval. Both partners should recieve treatment. Even after that some gynecologists suggest to use local medications during sex in order to avoid further infection.
