What Are The Withdrawal Effects Of Belsomra?

I was on ambien for a few eeeks following mamjor oral surgery. my daughter came to help out $Somehow she misplaced my usual prescription of belsomrs. I have looked everywhere and she can t remember. I can t grt more until Septembrr. I am dependent on.sleep aids, hit by lighting in 2006 and screeed my brain up. 2 what do you suggest?

Hi,

Belsomra contains suvorexant that is used in the treatment of of insomnia characterized by difficulties with sleep onset or sleep maintenance. It is a selective antagonist for orexin receptors OX1R and OX2R that can be used in the treatment of sleeping difficulties and maintaining proper sleep hygiene. Stop taking Belsomra abruptly may develop some unwanted side effects known as withdrawal symptoms.

Withdrawal symptoms from Belsomra have proven to include rebound insomnia, abnormal dreams, anxiety, dizziness, cough, dryness of mouth, diarrhea, restlessness, nervousness, irritability, headache, sweating etc. To avoid these unpleasant side effects, you should stop taking this medication gradually by tapering the dose after consulting your doctor first.
