Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was prescribed Celexa, 40 mg/daily by my OB/GYN. I eventually took myself down to 20 mg, then down to 20 mg every other day. I ve recently ran out and my prescription is expired, so its been a few days since it s been in my system at all. Are there any serious side effects/withdrawals to be cautious of at this point? Feeling somewhat dizzy and foggy today, but may also be caused from lack of sleep. I m in the process of finding a steady family dr. Thank you!
First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, the sudden withdrawal of Celexa can cause a group of symptoms collectively called serotonin syndrome. You need to consult a psychiatrist and get evalution done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
