What Can A Patient Start Insulin While On Oral Hypoglycemics?
When do you suggest for starting the insulin for a patient on oral hypoglycemics? I am taking a Zoryl 4mg at BF and Zoryl 2mg, Glycomet 1gm at Dinner still blood sugar F is 120 and after noon 246 and At dinner 240 do you think i should start the insulin.
Dear Sir/MAdam, Welcome to HCM, I think there are a few options before we think of insulin. As a initial step I feel your metformin dose can go up. Recommended dosage is 2gm/day. So you can add metformin in the morning as well. once you have done that please monitor your blood sugar readings to decide on further course of treatment...
