Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yesterday i had a ecg testing done..(because of a dental surgery that i need) and got a phone call from the dentist office today saying there was a slight abnormality and that i should make an appointment with my family doctor. I am 45 yrs old, never smoked, but i do have graves disease. What kind of abnormalities would it show?
well the abnormalities shown in the ECG are always should be co related clinically. If you are having the chest pain along with the seating etc & simultaneous ECG changes then only they can be considerded significant.
Manier times the Ecg reading showing the abnormaliti might be because of the wrong lead palcement by ECG technicinas , the movements of the body that might have occured whicle recording ECG or the metal objects that might have benn forgotenn to be removed while doing ECg.
The automated ECG machins which are use commonly with auto interpreataion may record even minotr nonsignificant changes & display them as abnormalities.
the chances of Ecg reading of yours being abnormal are very less as there is no significant symptoms shown by you.
But the perfect comment can only be done after seeing the exact ECG graph of yours.
